In this series, I will be explaining what you should be doing each and every shot to hit holeouts in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14. For Part 2 of this series, I will be giving some in-depth tips on how to play the wind and your lie.
Playing the Lie
The first thing you want to do when you are on your approach shot to the green press DOWN on the left analog stick. This will give you a view of your lie and it will actually give you a degree below/above your feet as well as upslope/downslope. If the golf ball is ABOVE your feet, the ball will kick towards your body (it will kick left if you’re right handed). If the ball is BELOW your feet, the ball will kick away from your body (it will kick right if you’re right handed). The easiest way for me to learn how to play the lie, is by paying attention what your ball does every shot. You really want to pay attention on shots that do not have any side wind to see how far every degree below or above your feet will kick. A good way to measure this is by using the grid that is on the green. If it is 1″ below your feet, aim about 1 grid box left and see if it lands directly on with the hole. If it doesn’t quite kick that much, adjust for it the next time until you get a good feel how much the ball will kick. Everyone has their own method for how much the lie will affect the ball going left or right, it is up to you to find that method for yourself through practice!Read More →
